- As soon as your puppy is old enough to be potty trained- do it!
- Have your dog spayed or neutered, since this will immediately reduce the amount that they pee inside.
- Show them the right way to do it- give your dog a treat when they pee outdoors so they know what they should be doing.
- If your dog won’t stop peeing in a certain area, keep them away from it until they have learned not to.
Cleaning Up Dog Urine:
When your dog does pee inside there are several dog odor and stain removal techniques. It’s essential that you take care of the problem ASAP to get it all out. To make a homemade clean-up mix, you’ll need:
- Water
- Distilled white vinegar
- A spray bottle
- Some cloths or towels
Start by filling the spray bottle about three-quarters with water, and then add around 3-4 capfuls of the white vinegar. Shake well, then use the cloths to soak up as much of the urine as possible. Once that’s done, spray the leftover stain with the spray bottle, and let the solution soak right down to the carpet padding. Leave to sit for a minute or two, then pour some more cold water to the spot, before soaking that up in the same way as the urine.
